Cat 385C LRE

On the following pages you can see the build of a remote controlled 1/16 scale model of a Cat 385C LRE excavator.After ten years of building guitars,I was a little bored with it,and started looking for another challenge,with more technology in it.Due to my work (maintainance techncian in a factory),I did have a course in working with metal,milling and turning etc..So I came across this site,( and there was this magnificent package of drawings of this Cat 385 CL excavator.

Some parts I am going to make different,so will the boom be a Long reach boom ( LRE) ,that's why my modell is going to be a Cat 385C LREIt is a 1/16 th scale modell,that can be made fully functional with electric drive of the tracks,and electric driven swing of the upper machine part,and hydraulics for the operating of the boom,stick and bucket,all controlled trough radio controlled equipment.
