Above you can see a top and side view of the plating of the backside of the machine.Underneath you can see how I constructed them.
On the left you can see that I took a piece of rectangular brass tube, and first milled out the holes for the 3 bolts,and with the mini grinder cut out the space between the bolt area.On the right you can see the finished brass tube and the little plates that will form the grid pattern.
On the left you can see that the parts are soldered together ,and also the bolts are put in place.On the right you can see the grid placed in the plate.
On the left you can see that the rest of the details are made.On the right you can see the hatch open,the lock is made so that the u-shaped part stays with the lock,but can be moved ,so the hatch can be opened.

On the left you can see that I first made the panel with the vent holes in it.I first cut out the outline of the holes,and then I soldered from 1 mm square rod the single strips in place.On the right you can see the finished panel.
On the left you can see the original machine has two big doors on the cabine side,they are locked with 3 bolts each,behind the doors are the radiators,one for the cooling of the engine,and one for the cooling of the hydraulic oil.On the right you can see that I first made the outside panels of the doors.
On the left you see the cutting of the strips from a piece of brass, that will become the grids of the doors.Before I started the cutting,I drilled 3 holes in the plate ,in the holes comes a small bar,to keep the strips at the correct distance.On the right you can see that all the strips are cut now.
On the left you can see the soldering of the strips ,so it becomes the grid.To keep the right distance between the strips,I made some strips of aluminium at the required thickness.On the right you can see both grids ready to be soldered to the doors.
Above you can see the doors placed on the frame with some tiny hinges.
On the left you can see the detail of the bolts.They are not functional,just for the detail,I keep the doors closed with little magnets.On the right you can see the doors opened.
On the left you can see the magnet,I made one on top of the door,and one on the bottem.On the right you can see that I soldered a little piece of steel plate on the inside corners of the doors,because the brass doors are not attracted to the magnet.01 August 2014:
Above a view of the right hand doors,the next thing I'm going to fabricate.On the right picture you can see the inside of the small door ,and the details of it.The hinges are fixed to the panel with the vent holes in it,also is there a mechanism that stops the door at a certain point.So,enough challenge to make this also in my model.

On the left you can see that the door is made and soldered to the panel ,and the whole assembly bolted on the frame.On the right you can see the door stopper.
On the left you can see the handle on the outside of the door placed,and also the knob to open the door is placed there.

Next thing I construct is the "hood" with the vent holes in it,on top of the machine,above the big door .On the left you a picture of thge real machine.On the right you can see the model,also here I made the outline of the holes,and after that I soldered the square rods ( 1mm X 1 mm ) in it.

On the left you can see a panel on the real machine with a gitter in it,that's what I'm going to make next.

For the next panel I need a small gitter,but it's not available anywhere,so I made it myself.On the left you can see that I took square brass tubes,and made a template from aluminium to keep them in place during the soldering.On the right you can see that I cut the soldered tubes into slices of the desired thickness.
